Systematics of New
World Pachycondyla

Pachycondyla is a diverse and heterogenous
assemblage of ponerine ants found in tropical and subtropical regions worldwide.
My taxonomic work in Pachycondyla is limited in scope to a few species-level
taxonomic problems that I encountered while cataloguing the Paraguayan
ant fauna. Bill MacKay (University of Texas, El Paso) is currently
giving the New World species a more comprehensive treatment.
