Apterostigma

Apterostigma is one of several genera of small Neotropical fungus-growing ants and among the earliest lineages in the group to evolve.  These leggy, slow-moving ants typically have small nests in the soil, but some species may construct their fungus gardens on the undersides of leaves above the forest floor.
