Acanthognathus - trap-jaw ants

Acanthognathus is a small genus of rarely encountered myrmicine trap-jaw ants.  Their elongate build and shiny red coloration render them among the most attractive of all the trap-jaw species.   The genus is found in tropical forests of Central and South America.
