    3 years if I caught that correctly in the larval form, so what is the live span of a dragonflie?

    Terence, life span including egg thru adult ranges from 1 year to several years. Winged adults typically last for days thru a few months. There are over 2000 species described as I recall so there is a fair amount of variation.

    Some species are known to fly hundreds of miles between pacific ocean islands and species from the Carboniferous era had wingspans over 2 feet wide.

    1. Thank you for the answers, my knowledge of insects is very minute, I am begging to read more so as to better understand those which I am attempting to photograph.
