Here we are in lovely Cape Tribulation, where the Australian rainforest goes right down to the beach. I’ve only got about 2 minutes of internet time to make this post, so here are a couple photos:

Very nice! I’ll be driving past there tomorrow while en route to out study sites closer to Cooktown.
You’re pretty observant, ff! That shot was lit by hanging a leaf behind the weevil and firing a flash behind that. The “spot” is an area where a leaf-mining insect of some kind had damaged the leaf such that light penetrates more readily. That the light spot ended up in the images is accidental.
