Friday Beetle Blogging: Glischrochilus

Glischrochilus sp. (Nitidulidae)

This little sap beetle was was trapped inside my office window just now. I put it on a leaf outside and snapped a quick photo before it flew off.

As Glischrochilus is among the shiniest of beetles, diffusing the flash properly when photographing it is more important than for most insects. I used my standard double-layer tent diffuser, as here.

  1. Partying, partying , partying partying , fun, fun, fun, fun, looking forward to drowning in Rebecca Black’s kiddie cup!

  2. There were supposed to be interjections of cheezy “yeah!”s in between…idk what even happened there.
