Not to be a killjoy, but aren’t the ants at 6:32 Camponotus instead of Formica? Only blemish in an excellent program, though.
Hard to choose any one “best” thing in this documentary, but I was amazed at the scale of those leafcutter nests. And I never had a sense of how the excavated nest casts dwarf people. Thanks thanks thanks!
Awesome documentary. I just bought myself NOVA’s ant documentary, from Amazon.com, since I haven’t seen it since the early 90s(?) and didn’t see the whole thing. 😀
